The Art of Life After is opening a call for workshop leaders for our upcoming ‘Workshop Series’ to be held in Boston, MA the weekend of April 9th and 10th, 2016.
The Art of Life After is a project in art and healing lead by survivors of sexual violence. Our upcoming Workshop Series will include a weekend of survivor facilitated and attended creative healing workshops, culminating in a public performance featuring celebrated artists in the field. Workshops will last a maximum of 1.5 hours long with approximately 8-12 pre-registered attendees.
With the distinct intention of honoring and supporting People of Color survivor communities, we want to extend the opportunity to lead workshops with priority to PoC who identify as survivors of intimate violence. As organizers of this show, both identifying as WoC and as survivors, we hold this event in a deeply personal space and recognize the importance of PoC leadership in this context.
In order to apply we are looking for workshop leaders to send the following to firstname.lastname@example.org; first round due by November 23rd, 2015.
• Personal artist or work statement with mention of your connection to and interest in this show’s content and mission
• Proposed workshop content (for example; spoken word, visual art, fiber art, yoga, etc.)
• Rough budget of anticipated cost of supplies for your workshop
• Any clarifying questions or inquiries are also welcome
All workshop leaders will receive $100 in payment for their collaboration, in addition to some funding for workshop materials.

The Art of Life After is a multi-faceted community project that intends to create a space for survivors of intimate violence to build community and art that arise from the complexity of a life including experiences of intimate violence. We held our first iteration of the show in April 2015 and in November 2015 we were awarded a grant to continue the project in a larger way.
