“ROAAARRR! A Beautiful Anger” – Survivor Theater Project 2:00 pm
“ROAAARRR! A Beautiful Anger” – Survivor Theater Project @ The Democracy Center
Jun 11 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
We are very excited to invite The Meeting Point community to join us on Sunday, June 11th 2pm at The Democracy Center (Cambridge MA), to the Survivor Theatre Project’s performance of “ROAAARRR! A Beautiful Anger” On the 11th, STP will join with community to create a space for survivors and allies to experience a powerful performance of “ROAAARRR! A Beautiful Anger” and engage in open dialogue about the cycles of violence in the Boston area. This afternoon, we will join in community to uplift a message of resistance and resilience for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. STP’s Touring Company performance is a show that connects music, percussive rhythms, spoken word, and raw emotion to encourage audiences to reflect on how sexual violence survivors thrive in a world that attempts to silence our rage. We hope that you can join us on the 11th! Tickets at the door on a sliding scale $10-30, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Note the Democracy Center is not wheelchair accessible. ASL interpretation will be provided. Please find attached the performance flier to share with your networks, and a full description of the performance below. In Solidarity, Leila, Mel & Michal Performance Description A collection of poetry, rhythm, monologue and movement that ruptures the confines of victimhood and illuminates a spirit that cannot be broken. In a society struggling with sexual violence as an epidemic, these survivors define what true protection means, and galvanize our communities from art to action....
