I am a white, queer, trans/non-binary therapist who takes a collaborative, trauma-informed and non-pathologizing approach to therapy. I provide affirmative therapy for LGBTQIA+ folks who are looking to explore their identities, thoughts, and feelings in a supportive, non-judgmental space. I believe it is important to feel seen and understood by your therapist in order to feel safe to explore difficult/traumatic experiences and share my personality throughout my work.
I work to meet people where they are at and practice from a place of curiosity, exploration, and compassion. I approach therapy through an anti-oppression and liberation lens while drawing from different therapeutic approaches including ACT, self-compassion focused, mindfulness, and IFS.
I graduated with an MSW in 2016 and have worked in outpatient medical settings, with court-involved individuals seeking mental health and substance use treatment, and outpatient counseling/private practice. In the past several years, I have focused on serving primarily LGBTQIA+ folks who experience anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. I hope to create a safe and affirming space for folks who hold any kind of marginalized identity.
I have completed several trainings and engage in on-going consultation focused on queer/trans affirming therapy, gender affirming care letter writing, IFS, and ACT. In 2024, I have completed training in and am now offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). As of 8/2024 I am currently accepting new clients for on-going therapy and/or short term KAP sessions (3-6 months). Please inquire via email: info@aglicsw.com
