About Aneesa’s Practice:
My practice strives to be trauma-informed, authentic, decolonial, collaborative, client-centered, strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and anti-oppressive. My work pulls from modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychoeducation, along with having a harm reduction perspective. Within the session, you can expect a variety of activities including expressive therapies, rapport building, problem-solving, and working on finding ways to cope through whatever happens in your life. Sessions aim to be engaging, positive, and genuine so you feel safe to share about your perspectives.
I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work and my B.A in Applied Psychology from Boston College. I also have an interest in art and activism which inform the scope in which I practice. I have previously worked at a day center focused on homeless young adults and at a stabilization program for substance use recovery. I value the importance of transparency, authenticity, and humor within a session as a means to welcome everyone, wherever you are at in your journey. I look forward to meeting you where you’re at and working together through the highs and lows.
