PRACTICE STATUS:
I currently have openings for both virtual and office-based sessions.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker whose practice is rooted in the notion that connection heals, as well as a deep knowing that trauma, anxiety, suffering, and the like are stored and live within the body. It is from these truths and an eclectic theoretical and experiential approach that I support individuals in restoring healthy connection with themselves, others, and the universe. I invite clients to take an embodied and curious approach to their healing journey and incorporate practices and skills pulled from many backgrounds, including Internal Family Systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness/meditation, somatic and movement based, and much more. I have extensive experience working with children, teens and family units, as well as adults of all ages.
In my years of practice, I have found that many clients reach out seeking support managing feelings of anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, and depression, or help navigating life transitions, peer relationships, and family dynamics. They’re seeking a reprieve from their inner critic and racing thoughts, they want to regain control over their bodies, minds, and spirits, and feel peace. Most of all they want to be seen and heard for who they truly are.
I pride myself on the affirming and collaborative approach I take to the therapeutic relationship, intentionally shifting the role of power holder and expert (historically, held by the therapist) to the client, and find that this humanistic-based perspective offers the most space for safe and supportive exploration and self-discovery, an opportunity to be fully seen and heard, to build new skills, grow, and reconnect with the true self.
