This is a virtual feedback session for providers and consumers to share feedback on the draft model of the Community-Based Mental Health Response (alternative to 911) for the city of Boston. The session will last 2 hours and is scheduled from 6pm-8pm.

If you are not an active member of either group, there will be other opportunities beyond this Feedback Session to engage with the work happening here. Please also only register if you are willing to actively participate in the breakout rooms. This event is an English-only event, however, the slides, information sheet, and survey are available in Spanish and we will also offer Zoom closed captioning. Please register by 6pm on August 22, 2022.

If you have any questions about whether this session is the right space for you, please email: bostonliberationhealth@gmail.com.

Background:

In the spring of 2020, Boston-based community organizing groups successfully organized and advocated for the development of a community-led mental health crisis response that does not involve law enforcement. Last year, the City of Boston agreed to allocate funding to develop a community-based crisis response model. Since March 2022, The City School and Boston Liberation Health and 14 community members from across the city responded to the community’s call to design this model. We are excited to share back with the community what we have been designing. We are seeking feedback from community members on the model, particularly communities most impacted by policing in mental health care.
