    Description:

This workshop is a pleasure-inclusive introduction to understanding consent.

In this workshop we will brainstorm (and practice!) many ways of asking for consent, saying yes, and saying no, so you can find at least one of each that works for you. We'll explore how getting consent can be a fun, sexy conversation where you learn about what your partner likes and wants.

We'll also look at different ways to gracefully accept a "no" that help the person saying no feel respected, and minimize awkwardness.

Great sex happens when everyone involved is confident that their partner(s) are 100% on board with every sexy thing that happens.

Learn to get comfortable communicating about sex, and you may find that you enjoy sex more.

rabbit varela (LMT) (they/them) grew up with pine, juniper and mallow plants by the rivers of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, cooking with their Grandmother from the garden. Rabbit is currently studying plant medicine with Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, and is a trauma-informed white queer neurospicy bodyworker in Jamaica Plain who provides a community bodywork practice that is pay what you can, to be open to all the people, and to give back to BIPOC communities whose generations of herbal and somatic wisdom largely built the western herbalism and massage that rabbit learned from.

    HISTORY, MISSION, and ACTIVITIES

Trans Resistance was formed in June 2020 by a collective of trans and queer activists in the Boston area who built upon years of contention with the Boston Pride board for being trans-exclusionary in their process, vision, and work and failing to equitably represent the magical TQBIPOC community in Boston.

Since then, Trans Resistance has expanded its work, partnering with numerous community organizations to support Trans, Queer, Black, Indigenous People of Color in Boston and beyond. We show up wherever support and advocacy are needed, and commit to providing programming by and for TQBIPOC in our community.
